Tree Removal

Although tree removal is a last resort, there are circumstances when it is necessary. An arborist can help decide whether a tree should be removed.

Removal is recommended when the tree is: dead or dying, considered an unacceptable risk, causing an obstruction that is impossible to correct through pruning, crowding and causing harm to other or more desirable trees, to be replaced by a more suitable specimen, located in an area where new construction requires removal.

Pruning

Pruning is the most common tree maintenance procedure. Pruning is often desirable or necessary to maintain safety, improve tree structure and health, satisfy customer goals, and make the tree aesthetically pleasing.

Pruning objectives include: reducing the potential for tree or branch failure, providing clearance, reducing shade and wind resistance, maintaining health, improving a view, and improving aesthetics.

Stump Removal

Stump removal is often desirable to improve the view/aesthetics of a property and eliminate potential tripping hazards.

Cabling

Cabling or bracing is added to support branches with weak attachments. We use nonrigid (synthetic fiber) support systems, often referred to as dynamic cable systems.

Dynamic cabling systems allow for more tree sway. More tree movement allows a tree to produce supporting wood where needed, so, with time, the tree becomes stronger.

Risk Assessment

Tree risk assessment is the process of evaluating the likelihood that part or all of a tree will fail and cause damage and/or injury.

Arborists perform tree risk assessments to enhance public safety, protect workers on a job site, and promote tree longevity by predicting and preventing structural failure.
